ForUm Urban Experts Conference on “National Urban Development Strategies in Southeast Asia” telah diselenggarakan pada tanggal 17-26 Juni 2018 di Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia 2018. Kegiatan ini didukung oleh DAAD dan diorganisasikan oleh University of Cologne berkolaborasi dengan University Malaysia, Sarawak, Kota Samarahan. Dalam kegiatan ini Staf Dosen Fakultas Geografi Universitas Gadjah Mada yaitu Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T. dan Dr. Djaka Marwasta, S.Si., M.Si. ikut berperan serta dalam kegiatan tersebut, masing-masing mempresentasikan tentang “Implementing New Urban Agenda in Indonesia: Challenges and Urban Development Strategies” dan “Implementing of Sustainable Cities and Communities in Indonesia: Reflection of’100-0-100 Program’ Achievement”

On Monday, 16 April 2018 Prof. Ryota Nagasawa, P.hD from Landscape Ecology and GIS Laboratory , Tottori University Japan conducted a guest lecture on Remote Sensing Application for Agriculture : Introducing some case study in Java. This lecture was held at E Building on 5th floor and attended by more than 60 students coming from undergraduate, master and doctorate level. Prof. Nagasawa discuss about remote sensing application for agriculture specially for the application of satellite remote sensing technology to monitoring paddy rice cultivation (to know the current situation of paddy rice cultivation and improve the accuracy of agricultural statistics).
