The UNESCO-UNITWIN Cooperation Program endeavors towards building the capacities of higher education through collaborating research, knowledge sharing and training in the framework of UNESCO’s UNITWIN. As a part of this UNITWIN Program, the Joint Research on Women’s Empowerment through Leadership Education will particularly contribute to promoting women’s empowerment by raising awareness on the necessity of leadership education for women.
One of lecturer from Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada also research expert from Women Studies Centre, Universitas Gadjah Mada, was selected to be a representative participant and research collaboration under UNESCO-UNITWIN framework, namely Surani Hasanati, S.Si., M.Sc. Course Title that held on 29 May and 30 May 2017 in Seoul, South Korea was 2017 UNESCO-UNITWIN Network Establishment Workshop. The host was Ministry of Education of Republic of Korea, while the organizer were Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC) of Sookmyung Women’s University (SMU) and Handong Global University (HGU). Other participants were Members of Korean National Assembly, Government Officials of Korean Ministry of Education, Presidents of SMU & HGU, Partners of Sookmyung and Handong UNESCO-UNITWIN Program includes ASEAN Countries. While for research collaboration, Surani got USD 1200 for 2017 schemes.
