The International Affairs Unit, Faculty of Geography held guest lecture series with intact topic related to Biodiversity and Marine Resource. Assoc. Professor. Mark John Costello,Ph.D. from Faculty of Science, Institute of Marine Science, University of Auckland, New Zealand, as the speaker, have three sessions to deliver the lecture. The 1st session held in 27th February 2018 is about Discovering Earth’s Biodiversity, the second session discussing about recent discoveries in marine biogeography from biodiversity informatics in 28th February 2018, and the last session in 1st March 2018 about the science around marine resources.
This lecture series held at E Building on 5th floor with more than 40 participants in each session from several faculties and graduate schools like Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Agriculture etc. Prof.Costello discuss about the importance of studying biodiversity and some facts about biodiversity in the world. He also talks about the marine resources, how biodiversity as a resource and what that influences it.
The discussion facilitate by Mrs. Estuning Tyas Wulan Mei (Head of The International Affairs Unit) filled by the enthusiastic of the participants from different background.
