A total of 11 students from the Faculty of Literature and Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya, followed Outbound Program at the Faculty of Geography Gadjah Mada University from August 1 to June 28, 2010. University of Malaya students accompanied by the Head of the Department of Geography, University of Malaya, Prof. Dr. Osman Salleh Khairulmaini. Outbound programs conducted in the form of Summer Course by the Faculty of Geography, University of Malaya GMU where students can learn about the cultures and educational systems in the Faculty of Geography Gadjah Mada University. Summer Course Universiti Malaya is one form of cooperation in educational exchanges of students who have been there on Academic Cooperation between UGM and Universiti Malaya who has been there since 2007. Lecturers who will give a lecture other than the Faculty of Geography is from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM (Prof. Dr. Mochtar Mas’oed, MA Department of International Relations) and the Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM (Department of History).
Delegation from University of Malaya’s arrival was greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Geography Gadjah Mada University, Prof Dr Suratman and all staff, faculty and students in the party Welcoming ceremony at the Faculty of Geography Gadjah Mada University on January 1, 2010. Welcoming ceremony livened by singing an acoustic performance of Geography Gadjah Mada University students joined in Geonoise. Summer Course was opened by General University of Malaya on 2-3 June 2010 Lecture delivered by Prof.. Dr Mochtar Mas’oed, MA from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Introduction to the theme UGM Cooperation Indonesia-Malaysia and Prof. Khairulmaini Dr. Osman Salleh from Universiti Malaya in the theme of Environmental and Geographical Education at the University of Malaya. Public lecture was attended by lecturers and students S1, S2 and S3 Geography Faculty and students from University of Malaya.
In further discussions on the question and answer session, Prof. Dr Mochtar Mas’oed, MA explains also how the position of cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia so far and the prospects and constraints might interfere with whatever cooperation that has been well maintained. Medium Khairulmaini Prof. Osman Salleh said more details about the existing system of teaching in University Malaya, especially in the Faculty of Geography (Geography Position) at Universiti Malaya.
